Activities, workshops, and events
Spring is fully settled in and our neighborhood is getting more colourful day by day. Hundreds of yellow dandelions and purple violets are mixed in with the grass, and the crabapple trees are like big pink clouds next to the sidewalks. Here at Women on the Rise, we even have some little white strawberry flowers peeking out of the front lawn!
The school year is coming to a close as well, and families are planning for summer and preparing their children for year-end exams.
We've got a number of activities planned, some familiar and well-loved, and some brand-new. Keep reading to find out the highlights.
Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is happening on June 20th at 7 pm! This is a special opportunity to vote on different aspects of the organization and collaborate with us on determining the priorities of Women on the Rise in the year to come. We'll be hosting a pizza party on June 6th to introduce how the meeting works and what it's for. Please note that our AGM will take place online via Zoom. If you need support to make sure you can participate this way, please let us know as soon as possible. See you there!
Personal Development workshops with Gail
We're welcoming Gail back to WOR for a new series of personal development workshops. These are a great opportunity to identify what matters most to you, what you want to do in your life, and make changes to reach your goals. Whether you already journal about this or whether you have never thought of it before, come join us!
Free Haircuts with Zehra
One of our newest participants, Zehra, has kindly offered her hairdressing skills for free on June 28th. Spaces will be limited, but we will keep a waiting list in case there is a lot of interest. This is the first time that Women on the Rise has tried coordinating an activity like this, so please be patient with us while we figure out the details!
