Mother's Day means many different things to many different people, because of the powerful influence that mothers have on each person's life. At Women on the Rise we pride ourselves on celebrating motherhood in all of its complexity, each and every day, so for us Mother's Day is simply an opportunity to add a little more pizzazz! We have the privilege of working with women whose tireless dedication to their children and families is an inspiration; we are constantly humbled by their strength, their caring, and their wisdom. Even those of us who do not have children still embody that caring role in many other ways, and we believe that's something worth celebrating.
At the same time, we know that Mother's Day isn't happy for everyone. Some of us may feel heartbroken, lonely, angry, or nothing at all. We want you to know that regardless of whether you're in the mood to celebrate or not, you are welcome to share space with us at this event. Your entire being is welcome here, and we are looking forward to spending time with you, on Mother's Day and on every other day.
