This Saturday on October 18th, Alexandra and Olga from Women on the Rise are going to the World March of Women in Quebec City!

Held every 5 years since 2000, the World March of Women (WMW) is an international feminist action movement bringing together grassroots groups and organizations working to eliminate the root causes of poverty and violence against women.

The slogan of the 6th edition of the World March of Women is "Encore en marche pour transformer le monde" (Still Marching to Change the World).

This year, we're marching for:

  • The right of girls and women to live in peace and security

  • The right to make free and informed choices

  • A decent income guaranteeing women's economic autonomy

  • Free and universal access to quality public services

  • A healthy environment, respectful of biodiversity and communities

  • A society based on feminist values, where the economy serves the living.

For more information about the march, check out the Tables de groupes de femmes de Montréal website!
